God loves you .

". . . nudge . . . the older baby boomers" - HEY! I resemble, fully, that remark.

B.O. is more pro-abortion than any other Democrat. Here in Illinois, he was the main force against Baby Born Alive protective legislation; legislation that on the federal level all the other Democrats voted to support. The man SUCKS, big time, and his only option for 'change' is for you and me to 'change' in order to think like him. In fact, in every politician's concept of change, that is exactly what he or she means - 'change your thoughts to be like mine'. It has been thus since elections have been held.

One more election to hold my nose entering the voting booth. Most candidates may not SUCK like B.O., but the STINK is thick.

Remember, I love you, too .

Toward our holy and prosperous New Year in Christ,

Pristinus Sapienter

I am stridently Pro-Life; it is the main reason I have always been Republican. Therefore will not vote for Giuliani to be the Republican candidate. I think he is a good man, but because of his pro-choice stance, I cannot vote for him.

As for who I would like to see Democrats choose for their candidate, I am basically for anyone but Hillary. I am anti-Hillary for many reasons; not so much because I dislike the woman (I don't), but more because I do not like the notion of family dynasties running the country. I strongly disagree with her pro-abortion stance, but all the Democrat candidates are pro-abortion.

Since 1988 we have had either someone from the Bush family or the Clinton family running this country, and I am very tired of that. I do NOT want the sequence to be:

1988-1992 Mr. Bush Sr.

1992-2000 Mr. Clinton

2000-2008 Mr. Bush Jr

2008-2016 Mrs. Clinton

I think having only two families hold the reins of power for so long leads to chronyism, nepotism, general corruption and bad government.

On the Republican side, I like Keyes of course, and Romney. In the general election, I will vote for whomever the Republican candidate is.

On the Democrat side, since as per above, in my book Hillary is not reasonable, since Edward's wife is in ill health, that leaves Obama.

Obama's other plus in my opinion, is that he is not one of the older baby boomers; he is younger. As with slavery, I think that sadly, abortion will be with us for a long time; most probably we will perpetuate this national sin until the baby boomers are no longer in charge. As with slavery, the nation will bear the shame for generations. For this and other reasons, I think the sooner we can nudge at least the older baby boomers out of power, the better.

jofa,

Thanks for your response. Were we to have in the US sufficient persons with your outlook, those who occupy positions of trust and responsibility in government would not dare to foist upon our citizens and culture the immoral and divisive regimen of abortion-on-demand and other death-related initiatives.

We have been COMMANDED to do otherwise by ONE who has told us what's right and what's wrong - and then given us the latitude and ample assistance to choose the right. He doesn't hassel us along the way; He provides ample sources and avenues of instruction and counsel and opportunities to know and observe the experiences of other individuals, nations, eras and cultures and portions of cultures.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; not a cringing fear as that toward a tyrant but a sane fear of disobeying an all-powerful, all-just Force, Who has pointed out to us not only the right ways, but - of these ways - the one that is of paramount importance to our peace and happiness and HIs satisfaction: love of God and love of neighbor.

Abortion offends both Creator and living infants He has created: our helpless, innocent neighbors.

We must find a way to right this wrong. In the US, the way is our powerful election process. The votes are available to swamp the culture of death. 50% of all eligible votes go unexercised election after election. These do not belong to abortion ideologues, else they would always be eagerly cast. They belong to persons who should be able to understand the reasons why they should not continue to abandon their little neighbors to the holocaust of abortion by neglecting to vote.

We must cultivate these persons in such magnitude that no politician will be unaware of their position toward the sanctity of life inherent in The Great Commandment. (Frankly, I think it would give a degree of moral relief - mixed, perhaps - to many politicians who've chaffed for years under the indignity of the financial heel of "pro-choice" tyrants' funding of their campaigns; they might have to find other financing; but that's life.)

A bit long; sorry. Who, out there can suggest or initiate ways to stimulate this massive pool of potential votes for life? Anyone?

Peace, Jakes

As for me, Pro-Life is first priority in choosing a president. Only then do I look at national security (which is affected by the slaughter of innocents), gun rights, protecting our borders, etc. Since our national sin effects everything else, the first priority has to be stopping the destruction of innocent human life, conception to natural death. If we don't do that, no vote or human effort will prevent the destruction of the U.S.A.

Thanks for the post.

The totals of all murders perpetrated worldwide by Islamic Terrorists pale in comparison to the numbers of lives of innocent human beings wrenched away in the United States - violently and cowardly, but legally! - as they lie defenseless in the wombs of their mothers. The magnitude of the daily increment constantly augmenting that gruesome total (by way of comparison) exceeds the 3,000 murdered by terrorists on the single day: 9-11-01!

How could this be allowed by citizens of the Land of the Free devoted to human rights; by citizens devoted to the Golden Rule: "Do Unto Others as You Would Have Others Do Unto You"; by citizens, so many aware that the Great Commandment requires all to love God first and foremost and to "Love your neighbor as yourself"?

These 3,000+ innocent human beings murdered each day are our neighbors; are they not? What, then?

Surely, US citizens who actively elect (at all government levels) politicians who (for political expediency) ignore this carnage, will be asked, one day, by the Great Record Keeper to defend why they directly violated the Great Commandment by selecting leaders who facilitate the gruesome, unjust deaths of all these neighbors!

Surely, US citizens eligible to vote but who do not express opposition (at all government levels) toward politicians dedicated to this carnage; and then decline to show up on election day to vote in opposition to all such politicians, will be asked, one day, by the Great Record Keeper to defend why they kept silent before elections and why they forfeited their powerful voting right in favor of their innocent neighbors! Note: Election after election, these comprise 50% of all eligible voters: So far in excess of votes needed to bury the Culture of Death!

Surely it is essential to scrutinize and debate the relative suitability of key politicians for office, particularly those contending for President, but until American citizens know and articulate that opportunity and responsibility are theirs, primarily - not the politicians’ - to insist upon justice for the dignity of all American neighbors, we will find, sadly, that a president or single politician alone will be severely impeded in bringing about necessary justice.

All politicians - liberal and conservative; of all political parties or none - must be made strongly aware that American citizens are becoming evermore convinced that the Culture of Death (i) is a movement anathema to the principles that were the underpining of the creation of the United States and of its continuing peace and greatness; that, rather (ii) the Culture of Death is a massive, commerial enterprise achieving its profitable, deathly ends by strangling the American political processes.

While this post appears in the political forum it is not a partisan matter. Laity, clergy and existing pro-life organizations can judge whether the dictates of the Great Commandment and of the Golden Rule are not the bedrock reason why abortion and its companion attrocities are wrong. If they agree that is the case, then they ought to orient and strengthen their initiatives accordingly, so that we may arouse a vocal and voting contingency that acts accordingly and vigorously. If we can educate citizens, young and old, franchised and not, toward these ideas, no parties or individual politicians -nor Culture of Death - will be an obstacle to our country’s continuing (and increasing) greatness. Good things can be made to happen in 2008 when politicians know our moral will.

Pie in the sky? Let’s see. .

Peace, Jakes
