There will be a computer televised Extraordinary Form (EF) of the Holy Mass on   www.AirMaria.com     on the evening of September 15th. And did anyone get to see it on EWTN? I only saw a little bit as it came on at 6am and I had to be at a 6:30 Mass.

Does anyone here have access to the EF? I will not at this time, I know. But I sure wish I had the opportunity. What are your thoughts on all this?

"...thoughts..."
I can follow the Mass in Latin well enough, but I don't feel I could handle the variable parts (readings) too well, even if I had a printed page in front of me.

I like the prayers of the canon in Latin.  I like Latin hymns.

I am content with the Mass in the vernacular & am uneasy only a little with the priest as Presider vs. leader (that is at the head of the congregation).  But I suppose most priests are comfortable facing the people.

There is a lengthy thread about this topic somewhere in this forum.

JosephMary, For me it would be a great pleasure to enjoy the Latin Mass again. I grew up on Latin Mass so this would return me to my most happy moments of my childhood. I hear the Mass in Ukrainian which is similar in form to Latin and it is Divine!

You can watch and listen to the EWTN Mass at http://play.rbn.com/?url=ewtn/g2ewtn/g2demand/smil/latinmass.rm&proto=rtsp, and it is truly beautiful.

Michael, Thanks for the EWTN post of the Latin Mass. We have a television on 24 hours/day, 7 days per week in every room in the house, each television tuned to EWTN. We bought enough televisions for every room. We did this deliberately in our house to avoid commercial television programming and it's inherent evil.

If anyone changes the channel, it becomes immediately apparant. Also it is very comforting to have our house filled to the brim with EWTN as the Mass in many forms comes to us many times a day and prayer also.

We found this practice makes living in our home almost like living inside a church or a monastary constantly. We also had our house consecrated as an extension of the church sanctuary and all who dwell in it.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen
