Mary

Warren was our jewel.

It is a pity we are not hearing from him more.

It would be great to hear his sound advice, commitment to the Church, brave honesty  and beautiful way with English again.

God bless,

NoelFitz.

Funny you ask this today.  Just this morning, both he and Pouliot came to mind strongly during the Mass.  I know Pouliot pops in only every now and then...and from a library machine.  So I think he's limited in his access.

Warren, we'd love to hear from you!

I think Warren lives in California, so he may have his hands full with all the fires and so forth. Let's remember him in our prayers.

Warren lives in the Chicago area--so he's safe from the fires but yes, PTR, prayers I'm sure are needed.

God loves you . I . . . (note ellipsis familiaris :) . . . I am touched - As King David asked: "Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that Thou hast brought me thus far?"; who am I, that you should think of me? And even as tired and so down for some time now, you touch me. Of any 'fire' about me, I miss the fire of the Spirit. He only but so quietly tenders His energy. Yes, I have commented out and about, and leave blogs mainly at MySpace - if you can believe it. It is like some mini-mission, to give faith and reason air in such faithless and emotional wastes. I seem to be 'misunderstood' - a not uncommon response. But, of God and His All for us, of reason and its attendant powers, of faith and God's gifts, MySpace needs such as me. For a big thing, my daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law and others I know and have known come in contact with my love, and my service under God, such as it is. I have never been more depressed than I am now. God is preparing me for something - uh - though I may not want to know what. I leave a thought about a gift I recently received in this forum - 'The Great Light of the Dark Rosary'. And, yes, I will blog it in MySpace. In the meantime, let us pray for each other. After all, you simply MUST . . . . . . Remember, I love you, too . Warren,

I'm sure it will be a welcome revelation to you that my daily prayer list includes "Warren Jewell, Helena, Rachel, Eric, Ron and Dick" about each of whom I have insights gleened from various of your sensitive posts.  Thanks for being such a thoughtful, caring person.

Hey Jakes, would you please add me to your list. I am suffering sciatic pain nearly every night that is interferring with my sleep and the 2nd anniversary of my daughter's death is coming up and making me very sad. I could really use some prayers right now.

Bless you,

Mary

God loves you . Jakes, others - I have never doubted your thoughts of me and prayers for me. To all who list me - each other, really, from our contacts with each other, here - don't forget we all have losses that hurt as if we 'just lost her yesterday'. I know, Lord - twenty-five years - and just yesterday . . . Even so, gentle Father, the tears moisten old, dry eyes, and at the end of Kleenex is a certain clarity, sparkle, that give one more little peek of heaven, with You. May You be praised in Your saints from out of my life. May You be praised for wanting so to make a saint out of me. So, too, aging and aches - yea, too, loneliness and depression - creep up like thieves in the night quite precisely stealing sleep, rest, composure and care. I feel the embrace of your prayers in the midst of my own. Please, let us promise each other that we will not let up until we meet at the foot of His throne. Remember, I love you, too . From your lips to God's ears - to meet at the foot of His throne. I am not good at coversational prayer, but I say my childlike prayers for you all, constantly.

Dear Warren,

Thanks for your charitable forbearance in not disclosing the error and omission - that had to be so apparent (and, to a degree, disturbing) to you - in my last post. Surely, God has known those for whom Jakes intended to pray, despite Jakes' carelessness in naming names.

Forthwith, God will be hearing these names each day: ......

Warren and Sharon Jewell; Helena, Rachel and Erik.  Ken.   Dick

And, now, as our estimable Mary Kochan would say in closing:.....

Blessings,

Jakes

wljewell, Have your heard or tried antioxidants in the form of fruit juice or even grape wine reduce the effects of diabetes and depression? A study of grape wine diet showed increase in longevity by 50%.

God loves you . Thanks for your kind thoughts - now, let's get on with other topics. I don't want to end up any more flattered than I am now. Prayed for, with, and caringly, yes. Inflated old bald head - unnecessary. Other topics, every forum . . . (STILL - God bless you, and thank you.) Remember, I love you, too . Noel, Another topic? How's about you starting one on a new thread? We have not heard so much lately what has been on your spiritual mind and you are apparantly revered as respected elder of the tribe [like the Israelites] except in the USA.

Thank you for your post and invitation.

You ask what is on my spiritual mind.  I do not know what you mean.

You wrote:

I do not know if this is true.  I think everyone would like to be respected.  I know I am lucky with my friends.  I appreciate them and (I hope) I have time for them.  I would also like to think I have freinds in the US, including in this round-table.

God bless,

NoelFitz.

Noel, I am not certain although I have found a verse from the Book of Sirach which says that if we fail to worship God, we will run out of luck, which is not a quote although it is close. Luck I thought was an Irish word and I found it in the Bible. Apparantly luck has a religious meaning beyond the good fortune intended by an act of the leprechauns? What do you think of that?

Your spiritual mind is the most fervent prayer you have at this moment. Do you want to start a topic from your most fervent prayer?

I will remeber you and you family, as well as all associated with CE in my prayers.

I am very grateful to you and CE for the help given me in my religion. encouraging me and reminding me about prayer, the Christian life and thinking about the Faith.

May God be good to you and yours.

mkochan, I also pray in Jesus Holy Name relief from sciatic pain and pain of loss of our daughter. As my favorite priest told me when I lost my father, "Well, he is in God's hands now. Pray for him"

I also learned this prayer from Saint Anne's Society [mother of the Blessed Mother]:

Release her[Mary Kochan] from pain and illness, make her well in body, mind and soul. I annoint you in the Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen [which is then followed by Saint Anne's annointing oil applied to the forehead and palm of the hands in the form of a cross]

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen

Death of a loved one is always hard.  When I lost my father several year ago it was like loosing a best friend.

But I was asked to deliver a eulogy at his funeral and I closed it with this phrase which has helped me.

"look not upon my death as an end, but as a new beginning."

wljewell - Member
God loves you . Such "new beginning" is a call from God to those left behind, as well. Nothing respects the dead like joyous survival. At my wife's wake, a good mutual friend walked up to me, looked me in the eyes, broke into a big smile and said, "Oh, you know where she is, don't you?" I could not so weep in public until well after her burial. It was my respectful task to let all know that death may have robbed me, but had rewarded her - and, love for her for that time came first. (And, Lord, there has been just so much time since, for tears, with You and in silence and solitude. How often You have prayed with me in my lonely agonies, more than just an hour, through a night, into Your light of another day. Praise You, Lord, for using even my tears to save me.)
