Does anyone here still hide the baby Jesus statuette from their Nativity scene till Christmas day?

Absolutely I do.  So does my parish.

Until Christmas Eve in our home.  We don't hide him, exactly.  He just stays in the box until it's time.

We bought an outdoor Nativity scene last week and put the entire Holy Family out there.  Don't know why.  I guess we never thought about it.  It's moot right now.  They're all covered with snow.

The mangers in the Nativity scenes in our parish, inside and out, are empty until He arrives.  We are anxiously waiting.

Ours doesn't come out either.

I've mentioned this before in another post, but we have a bit of fun with the creche.

Baby Jesus shows up Christmas morning.

Our shepherd with the sheep are on the bookshelf next to the creche.  The day after Christmas, he makes it to the manger.

Our 3 wisemen are half-way across the room on a shelf.  They travel over the few weeks across the room until the Epiphany when they make it into the creche as well.

:-)  It's fun.

Time to go move the wisemen again!
