I received the following in an email:

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.   He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the track of  history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.'
Edmund Burke

In Memoriam
The UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the

six million Jews,

20 million Russians,

10 million Christians

and 1,900 Catholic priests

who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated while the German and Russian peoples looking the other way!
Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.
This e-mail is intended to reach 40 million people worldwide!

Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.
How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'never happened' because it offends some Muslim in the U.S.??????

Don't just delete this.  It will take a minute to pass this along.

God bless,

Noelfitz.

Even if the email isn't 100% accurate, there is a true story buried in the message, one that does reflect the willingness of educators to avoid teaching all of the historical facts out of fear. Any school (or teacher) that caves in to fear and refuses to teach accurately the events of WWII insults and offends the very people who fought, especially those who died during WWII for the freedoms that PERMIT Muslim students voice their objections or to even have the right to SIT in a classroom in Europe or the US for that matter.  Whether it is one school or the whole of the UK is irrelevant (not that we should be haphazarly forwarding emails), if it is happening there, odds are, it WILL happen here.  If Muslim families are offended by our history then invite them to leave. They certainly are free to return to their homeland to learn history in whatever convoluted manner they elect to teach it. Just don't take the truth away from my children.

Be vigilant.

I've just been doing some reading here of Eisenhower's war correspondence. In a letter to George Marshall he says:
"The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick. In one room, where they were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said he would get sick if he did so. I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in position to give first-hand evidence, of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to 'propaganda.'"
In another short note to Churchill he simply says of the enclosed photos "I think they tell their own story." In Christ, Michael

Can I tweak the topic here.....this talk of "seeing" to believe leads to a current discussion---that of showing actual pictures of aborted babies.  There is a recent article and discussion on the boards already but this seemed to have a strong tie-in.  I don't believe the graphic photos should be shown to the general public but certainly any lawmaker who has a say in whether abortion is legal or not should HAVE to see the photos.

The main differences in the situation of "seeing" the holocaust was to ensure that historically no one could deny that it happened.  With abortion, it IS happening and we want to ignore the pictures so our holocaust can be denied and continue.
