Atheist accuses Christians of Abuse of Hell towards Children

MAINZ (ANS) -- Professor Richard Dawkins, one of the world’s best-known
atheists and evolutionists, has accused Christians of committing spiritual abuse, if they teach their children the existence of hell.
Dawkins, author of the bestseller “The God Delusion”, took part in a television debate on the German channel ZDF, November 15. His opponents were the leader of the main line Protestant Churches in Germany, Bishop Wolfgang Huber, and the Roman Catholic auxiliary Bishop Hans-Jochen Jaschke.
Dawkins said both Protestant and Catholic clergy in America threatened children with hell’s torment, if they do not believe. Dawkins also criticized modern theology for selecting more or less arbitrarily which bible passages were acceptable. He described the God of the Old Testament as a malicious and cruel figure.
Bishop Huber rejected these allegations and called them an expression of anti-Judaism. God’s history with Israel was one of liberation from slavery, he said. In this context the Ten Commandments were given to Israel.
The Christian faith manifests itself in love, said Huber, even the love of one’s enemy. Such a love could not be explained without God. The Bishop conceded that there are controversial views of hell. But it was also inappropriate to speak of a “cute God”. Everyone is accountable to God, Huber said.
He accused Dawkins of presenting a “very fundamentalist atheism”. The aggressive tone of his arguments could be a result of the fact that today’s intellectuals do not automatically embrace atheist positions any longer.
According to Jaschke hell has not played a prominent role in the churches during the last 50 years. Religious education concentrated on teaching trust and confidence. A child was assured of being accepted by a loving God.
Jaschke emphasized that the key to biblical understanding is Jesus Christ. “Never believe for one moment that all evil will cease, once you have got rid of religion,” Jaschke warned Dawkins.
This piece shows the rather lack of knowledge and understanding of God and spiritual welfare. How sad. It's like talking to a baby who has no concept of life and where he came from. Pray for these folks to receive the gift of faith and that God would remove the veil from their hearts and open their sight. Amen.

I wonder when Dawkins will perhaps have his "Damascus Road" experience and then spend the rest of his life repairing the damage that he wrought upon us?

there's alot to be said but, it's for opening ones eyes to the real threats.
The enemy who is reaping allover the place lies and deceit.
The soul is an embryo in these people.
The creation of man.
First man and woman was created from the earth and God put a soul in them. The rest are born flesh and blood and God creates the soul in Heaven and puts into the new seed.
Now if you understand this, you realize that what is flesh is flesh and what is spirit is spirit. Only God can create the soul. Not to negate the creation of the flesh but to understand that man is a living soul. Genesis 1 & 2. And That God is the Creator. Give Him Praise and Glory. Amen.
If man is not taught about God at any point in his life, his soul is taught the wrong things namely vice. From Gods perspective the soul was created to enjoy God nothing else. For in God we learn to love. God is love He is the author of love. Not man nor Satan. If the The Author of Love is not present in the Soul to raise him, then the opposite applies. As Jesus said, I will raise him up at the last day. But, this is not the raise or elevation I'm referring to at this point, because Jesus is referring to the climax after we have successfully raised ourselves to the point where Jesus Himself raises us into Gods Eternal Glory. A steady rise of our souls to become perfect as He is perfect.
Being constant, overcoming and mortifying the deeds of the flesh, making no provisions to the flesh whereby the enemy gains some foothold.
Opposites: If this, then that.
If man can be so evil by the help of Satan,
Then man can be so good by the help of God(All three persons)
This is where the struggle comes and we get caught on oneside or the other and can only see from the current perspective we are in. Another words we are not tri-dimensional in mind. Seeing from other perspectives. Only with the Eternal Spirit of God can we be tri-dimensional in mind, soul and heart. Because The Eternal Spirit of God sees all things, present and future. Therefore we are to be guided by the Eternal Spirit and release all our souls into His Trust.
How do we overcome our concupiscence? By Partaking in the Holy Communion. Christ came to destroy the works of the Devil. The work of the Devil is sin infused into man by the deception at the garden. Separation of soul from body. Where before man fell, he ruled his body. He did not recognize he was naked until his soul was separated from his body. Then he realized he was naked. Concupiscense stripped us of our real clothing.
Amen.

To say to a child because they fail to understand, should not put a person in the right to say "you're going to hell". This is of course not right. Hell was created for the Devil and the false prophet. Revelations.
Good people go to heaven and evil doers go to hell, is not the correct way to converse to someone either.
Only those who persevere in Christ go to heaven and those who avoid doing evil may end up in hell because they just avoid doing evil. Bartering for time. Like the one talent man who burried his coin the sand.
Hell is real. It's there for a reason and without true Church teaching in the right perspective it can be abused and used to bring the wrong kind of fear. The fear without love. The fear of God from the heart out of true love for Him. Two kinds of fear here
not just one. The fear of the Devil and the Fear of God, Love. Out of Love one fears God from the heart and cries Father save me!
Apparently, this wrong kind of fear is what has struck many a souls into thinking God is a loveless ogre who sits in Heaven on His throne breathing fire out of His nostrils, and infamy to those who 'disagree' (I hate this word because it breathes Pride), one either
accepts Gods truth or they do not. One must understand that the enemy has been sowing seeds of discontentment and falsehood creating a veil of lies to stray Gods children from ever living in Eternal Love. The soul without Gods Truth and Love ends up like the enemy who is full of Hate and Falsehood. Thus seeing God as an ogre a fire breathing dragon ready to burn up it's prey. How sad, and How false.
God has given man: Time and Free will. How each person uses it is up to them. It's up to each to learn of God and understand Him. Not your local parish. Nor the Vatican, nor any other institution person place or things. God knows who is searching. Seek Him and live! Then go to Mass and receive Christ who fills your soul with heaven on Earth.
The bottom line I ask myself when I am faced with doubts, Do I want to live forever?
The answer is YES I DO! Because I know what happened at the Garden and I know God rewards us according to our work we have done in this life. What is the work? Evil and Good. We are sinners, we are born this way. We have to mortify our sinfulness, cut it off. What causes us to sin? Our weakness to Pride, Sensuality, Avarice. The Devil uses these things to cause us to sin. He did it to Adam and Eve, he does it to us. We are not immune to Satan's devices.
Pray therefore and persevere that God makes us resilient to Satans devices and for a fervent heart to Love God always and everywhere in everything. Resilient in that we can deflect the arrows of hate, envy, pride, capital sins and their counter parts.
Pray for the unbelieving. Pray 'Our Father' 'Hail Mary' 'Glory Be'
