Is it just my heightened skepticism about the guy, or did Bill Clinton 'put the moves on' (yet another) empty-headed plaything? He didn't even wait until he was 'ex-' to pull that sleazy stunt. I wonder is he ever found out what 'is' is - just as long as he doesn't ask (speaking of ex-Presidents the South will live long to live down) Jimmy Carter, who seems to barely know what anything is. Re: "If you've just eaten, you may want to wait half an hour for your stomach to settle." JFYI: Not everyone will load any and every scrap of SW that's available for the net. Mostly irrelevant here as I can imagine what the tenor was. William Jefferson Clinton was a crook (Whitewater), may have been complicit in drug smuggling while he was Governor, is alledged to be an accessory before/after/during (who knows which) to murder (Foster inter alia); facilitated Chinese spying (she was a cute officer in the Army of the Chinese People's Republic & we all know what his reactions to cute encompassed) on US military facilities (the roosting at home of which is occuring in these waning days of the year as Chicom subs shadow USN vessels in international waters surfacing within torpedo range to provide the proverbial diagram in three colors). I spell Bill Clinton "YUCK!!" And to think he was re-elected. I wish when this country got what it asked for in the way of politicians that there was a way to opt out. Old Sigma

I sigh, Sigma, that all politics has a Clinton taint that may be a semi-permanent thing; a stain of amorality that will persist until sometime after my grandchildren have voting grandchildren. Sigh away at will, PS, it is your right and I will stand at your side as you do so. But I am called by Sisyphus. And I would take up arms against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. (Bush was a bust. Whither now the fortunes of reason.) Resistance is not futile. Resistance is the path to the future. Stir up your juices. Your wit likely would easily exceed mine in cataloguing the ills that cry to heaven for remedy. Old Sigma

The ills for God's gracious attentions outweigh my formidable Chestertonian-like frame. Besides, the Honcho of honchos has it all in His will. As awful as the ways of our lives can seem, God wills it as it happens to us. He can make good come out of it for each of us, awful as it seems. But, being strong man at my gate can still be frustrating watching others invite the pillagers into their gates. I can't think how any can entertain, for example, another Clinton White House. This woman proves time and agin to be little but an ambitious chameleon, and a cynic about her husband's infidelities and othe peccadilloes, and she can look toward running for President? And, Barack Obama may be the most sophisticated rubber-stamp in the legislatures, but is still but a hackneyed libero-socialistic tail on the dog. And, he's everybody's honey-boy! Don'cha just wanna pinch his cheek - before kicking it firmly? Our domestic villains have taken the pulpit Bush forfeited - more his father's son than we thought, I guess. If a Reaganesque leader is out there, the dogs of the political wars will hound him down and tear him apart if they have to lie, and lie, and lie . . . And, what, our defense, but God, when so few seem to have reason-in-use and faith-at-heart? I am a warrior, but just who am I standing my ground for? So - and (sigh) - it seems the cloister beckons - let the dogs eat each other. THAT may very well be God's most intent will. Indians - talk about an unassimilated people with baskets of problems. There is in the likes of our modern 'states-folk' the germ of why democracy can never be perfect. It is a necessary evil, and such necessary evils - brought on by sins from yours-truly - always have parasites attached. I get the representayive governing I deserve. I clearly don't deserve much at all. I remain your obedient servant, but God's first, Pristinus Sapienter (wljewell @mail.catholicexchange.com or ...yahoo.com)

The Lord did not retreat to the desert for His entire life. We must do likewise even if we be ever so frail. "President Rodham" Has a horrible ring to it, doesn't it. Pundits say the single women will vote in droves for her. Maybe she'll die from jostling with pork bellies infected with some pedestrian disease. But just think. If she's elected she can use her investment savy to pay off the national debt, rescue social security, buy energy independence for the country. Just think. On second thought don't. The night brings it's own mares, there is no need to drag another into view, especially as broken down (ethically) as that one is. I wish it were possible to simply move somewhere where everyone was too reasonable to be duped by politicians. I fear the only way to avoid the scourge of the political hack is to do without any politicians altogether. Someone complained to me today that the reason the Indians were able to buy the Hard Rock label was that they paid no taxes on their earnings. If that's true, what are we waiting for? Should we not go and do likewise?

Actually PS, if you got the representative government you do deserve I think I'd be happier with it. As I see it, we get the representative government the majority deserves, and not necessarily a very responsible or interested majority. That's the rub. I want to opt out, especially with the cloud of "hilliarycare" on the horizon. I had someone tell me that they were going to vote for a certain candidate for the only reason that the candidate was from their party. Never mind what the candidate's positions were (higher taxes for one), nor past history (abject failure in local government). Someone who votes on that basis shouldn't have the ability to cancel my vote. It would be a little different if there were the possibility of a reasonable debate over who was the best candidate. ...

It is one thing with which I have long thought rational. Come into a voting station, and be able to answer such as who your governor is, who your federal OR state repesentative is, who your federal senators are, or wait four years to learn what a citizen should know for 'basics' and try again. Why do I have this feeling that ward heelers would be out with cheat sheets to wrench the works? (Why do I have this urge to use a wrench on ward heelers?) Dear pouliot, Enjoy the days of government by a white arkansas back woods boy while you can because the time is coming and not far off when a new race of people will rule this country and you and I will not even understand their language. In the Holy Love of God I am your brother in Christ and my name is Roy

Brother Roy: "Enjoy the days of government by a white arkansas back woods boy while you can..."
You'll have to explain that one to me, especially the "Arkansas back woods boy" part.

Old Sigma
P.S.: I'd share with you what I think of the Clintons but I presume this is a family oriented web site.

I don't think I understand the language of the current rulers. How will it be different and what do you see in the future? You know, quite a few of the "backwoods boys" know which end of a rifle is the business end.

how about Jimmy Carter? with Humanity for Habitat?

On the otherhand if Mrs. Clintion(if she is still in the mood) gets elected, he gets to go back to his ole stomping grounds. I wonder who's still around?
