Thanks, Loretta, for mentioning Jurgens' book "The Faith of the Early Fathers" to me. I have ordered a copy of vol I, as the earliest Fathers, principally the Apsotolic Fathers are of greatest interest to me.

Not a problem. You may get to reading it before I do!
But if you like fiction, I highly recommend
A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller.
Granted, I still have 20 pages to go...but an excellent read. OK...brilliant.
