Obama has announced Joe Biden is his VP choice and I say what a slap in the face to Catholics. The poltical commentators say that you need to pick a person you are comfortable with. Well, Biden's anti-life stance should make Obama feel pretty good today. Although, Biden does not go as far as Obama since he is against partial birth abortion. Nonetheless, it is Joe Biden that was against everyone of the Supreme Court nominees that showed conservative and pro-life values. Can you imagine what kind of Supreme Court we might get with an Obama-Biden duo? But all of this is politics and what really irritates me is that Joe Biden and the media identify him as "Catholic". Does a Catholic support death by abortion? Does a Catholic align himself by accepting this poistion with a man who voted to deny basic medical treatment to babies born alive after botched abortions? Does a Catholic ignore the teaching of the Holy Father and bishops? NO! Joe Biden is a CINY-Catholic In Name Only. His pick by Obama is a slap in the face to Catholics who follow the teaching of the Church and remember it's not just the teaching of the Church, but the Commandments of God and the life of His Son while he was among us on Earth. I hope and pray that the our bishops will come out and forecefully let the world know that Joe Biden might call himself a Catholic, but he has excommunicated himself by his continuous and non-repentant adherence and support of abortion.

Catholics, rise up and use your voice and vote and let the world know what a Catholic beleives in-it's not the same thing Joe Biden belives in

One hopefull liklihood is that, as these two blabbermouths spew their separate avalanches of words, the contradictions that find their ways out over the course of campaigning will be too evident for even the media to ignore.

Catholics do seem to be moving in McCain's direction - and more may follow. But, McCain must pick a Veep candidate who is solidly pro-life, or he will negate Obama's unfortunate choice with his own.

Jakes, I think a couple more 'outings' as Saddleback produced, and the MSM will find itself a further loser along with Obama-Biden, at the end of it all. Who will trust them? I am hoping, too, that the O-B 'coattails' will be so trimmed as to cause what would seem Democratic shoo-ins for Congress get taken down with the two ticket leaders.

But, Catholics should learn to look to being a solid bloc for pro-life issues, and we can change the world.

M-16,

Yes, the closest of our neighbors are all those in our families, which would be a chosen place to start the conscious abiding with the mandates of God's Greatest Commandment. Having a large family susceptible to current influences, there is where my natural wishes to inculcate the love intended by that Commandment lie, but, instead, I choose the Culture of Death (CoD) as the first battleground for several reasons.

(i) The results of the love being thwarted there are most palpably
evident: 3,000+ innocent human beings savagely put to death each and every day of the year, and countless mothers of them being bullied into being the instruments giving the death order - why? Because boy friends and others know who have been granted, by campassionate (ugh!) judges, the RIGHT (!!) to have their innocents cut up and discarded (perhaps after the innocents' having yielded some commercially saleable body parts to some third -fourth? - party !!!)

(ii) Easily, people, generally, can come to understand (i), above, and in contemplating the gory results of this disobeying of God's Greatest Commandment begin to better appreciate that His COMMAND to LOVE applies, reciprocally, to all neighbors, starting right there in their own families.

(iii) And then, it's not hard to reach the simple conclusion that by positing Love of Neighbor in His Greatest Commandment, God does not intend His Justice to be abrogated by disobeyers - any disobeyers.

(iv) So where does that leave Americans who possess the powerful, personal leverage of voting - BUT DON'T EMPLOY IT - to help rescue both unborn human beings from brutal, arbitraryily imposed death and the mothers of so many of them terrorized into voicing the order that initiates the abortion? Best, they avoid such mind-wrenching circumstance by vigorously demonstrating LOVE by voting to rescue their neighbors!
Enough votes will do it and there are plenty to be had.

(v) This November Americans could receive a therapeutic eye-opening in a dramatic change in the politics of abortion specifically because voters put love of neighbor first. Even pro-abort politicians who excape eviction from office will read the tea leaves and see that business as usual had better be "usual" no longer.

I'm not certain of how best to spread this message. Will you help?

Peace,

Jakes

If the rumors are true, looks like McCain has selected Alasla Gov. Sarah Palin as his VP. What a great and courageous choice- clearly showing that McCain has good http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palinjudgement which the Lib Dems all week accused him of not having. Why do I say this? The link below gives you full details on thsi woman, but from the Catholic perspective her pro-life values were actually lived out by her and her husband. Their fifth child was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome while she was pregnant and she was given the option to abort. They lovingly and willingly accepted this child as a gift from God. She has turned her states economy around, fought corruption, and is staunchly right to life. Cleraly a great canbdidate in light of the so called Catholic Biden's pro-abortion stance.

Thanks for the headsup, MReiner16. I've been poking around to see what the scoop is.

Just confirmed by all the major networks that John McCain has selected the staunchly PRO-LIFE WOMAN, 44 year old mother of 5 Sarah Palin as the next VP of the USA! What a great and historic moment for our country. Now WAKE UP Catholics and Christians- organize and get out there and start to take our country back.

The line has been drawn: Obama-Biden supporters of the culture of death vs. McCain-Palin supporters of life and in Palin's case, a living witness in her choice to go through with her pregnancy when doctors told her her son was a Down's Syndrome Child.

I really hope to see a public excommunication of Obama VP. That might just wake up a few people who are in need of it. It would be a great mercy for so many catholics as well the the man himself for the church to unambigiously send the message you can't be catholic and pro-choice.

Barack obama killing more black babies by voting then any disease in the last 10 years.
