I believe in my God, and Thy Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Thee, my Jesus Christ,
Only Son of Thy Father, and my Lord God.
I believe that Thou wert conceived by Thy Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God and all.
I believe that Thou suffered under Pontius Pilate,
were crucified, died and were buried.
I believe that Thou descended to the dead, in hell.
I believe that on the third day Thou rose again.
I believe that Thou ascended into heaven,
and that Thou art seated at the right hand
of my God, Thy Father Almighty.
I believe that Thou wilt come again to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in Thy Holy Spirit, Who is my Lord God,
I believe in Thy Kingdom, eternal,
I believe in Thy One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church,
I believe in Thy communion of saints,
I believe in Thy most generous forgiveness of my sins,
I believe in Thy gracious resurrection of my body, and
I believe in my life everlasting with Thee.
Amen.
Sometimes, repeating a prayer makes it kind of rote - even a bit stale in the scheme of finding full refreshment in praying. And, so does an old-timer with time and contemplation on his hands find a new way to say a very, very, very old and time-honored prayer. And, make it so very personally my own; I find that I am an assimiliation kind of guy.
Yeah - so? - I write like a Quaker.
