That any leader can fail to protect and even compromise and destroy one phase of human life, every phase is endangered by the egoist and arrogant policies of such as the One B.O. That in historical apparency ‘the One’ can cover one or another of everyone from the Jacobins to the latest Asian despot tells us this is a long story that never ends happily.
Now, this isn’t a ‘party’ issue, per se. History lesson: I agree with illustrious founder Gouverneur Morris –– that the party system is a wondrous enhancement to the branch checks-and-balances enforced by the Constitution. His story is not one of finest (sexual) morality (though leaving no illegitimate offspring that history knows of). However, he was the author of the preamble to the Constitution, and the very man that pulled all the agreements (27 articles in the original papers) of the Constitutional Convention in authoring the rather stylish and concise seven-article document we own to our great benefits.
Indeed, the One B.O. ought to try reading it; his running mate doesn’t even know where his own branch, the legislative, fits into it. By the way, Gouverneur Morris, his given name from his mother’s maiden name, was disabled: an arm withered by a teenage boiling-water accident and a leg removed in young adulthood due to severe damage in another accident. Yet, so stunning was his physical stature, regardless, he was the body double for Houdon’s sculpture of George Washington, considered the closest portrait to the Father of Our Country.
To return to topic: Not only very life, but any and every aspect of any person’s life – any freedom, every right, one’s livelihood, one’s marriage and/or family – can be violated. Hence, those other ‘fabric issues’, from nutrition to health care, from education to citizen formation, from job training to Social Security benefits (or, not) – any and all become the realm of central-planning decisions; and, their derivative power even to eliminating ‘rights’ and freedom. For, Lord knows what else they might choose to ‘spread around’.
With life itself holding no priority place, what is NOT at risk?
Lastly: seven articles; to wit: the Legislative power; the Executive power; the Judicial power; States’ power and limits; process of amendments; Federal power; ratification.
